Special Projects Vacancies

The Onshore Engineering Department, Special Projects Division within QP Technical Directorate is responsible for the implementation and management of numerous major state of the art Building and Infrastructure projects in Qatar.

Current projects include the Qatar Education City, several highly specialised Museums, Qatar Leadership Academy Complex, Industries Qatar (IQ) Tower, HQ Building Complex for Supreme Education Council and HQ Building Complex for Supreme Council for Family Affairs.

Onshore Engineering Special Projects Department requires dedicated Engineering professionals, with relevant experience of these types of projects, to meet the challenges presented by the workload. Successful candidates will need to be highly motivated individuals with excellent technical, communication and organisational skills to deal with a demanding, complex and diverse workload.

Sr. Structural Engineer (Steel)

BSc. in Civil or Structural Engineering, preferably with chartered engineering status.

12 years experience in design of building structures, with strong emphasis in Structural Steel. Excellent experience is required in design of structural steelwork for large, complex and technically challenging buildings and structures, together with good knowledge of their fabrication and site erection. Additionally, knowledge of design of offshore structures and heavy lift techniques would be very advantageous. Experience in the Gulf is desirable.

Sr. Project Engineer (Building)

BSc. in Civil Engineering, and professional membership of a recognized institution.

12 years broad experience in project management of large building engineering projects, of which a minimum 4 years in a discipline engineer capacity, covering design, construction, and commissioning of large building projects particularly in the Middle East. Must be fully experienced in developing and controlling building projects from conceptual design to commissioning and completion. Project management skills must include contract administration and a sound knowledge of various project execution strategies.

Sr. Architectural Engineer

B.Arch and professional membership of a recognized institution.

12 years broad experience in design of large building projects, with interdisciplinary coordination responsibilities and ability to identify and formulate practical solutions to the spectrum of architectural issues. Experience in both design and construction works, preparation of Scopes of Work and specification writing, with proven knowledge in reviewing and recommending a large range of building materials and finishes is essential. Must be fully experienced in developing and controlling large building projects through all stages from conceptual design to commissioning and completion.

Sr. Civil Structural Engineer (EDS)

BSc in Civil or Structural Engineering with chartered engineering status.

12 years experience in design of large building and civil infrastructure projects. Must have a sound understanding of civil/structural principles and techniques commonly practiced in design of buildings, and be experienced in review and preparation of concept, preliminary and detail designs for building and infrastructure works. Experience in inter-disciplinary coordination is an asset.

Sr. Designer (Architectural/Civil)

HND/Engineering Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering and proficient in use of AutoCAD.

10 years broad experience in FEED, ECS and EPIC phases of Onshore Facility projects, involved in Engineering Design and production of Engineering Drawings for all Civil/Structural aspects of these projects. Candidate should be able to demonstrate sound knowledge and experience within the Oil and Gas industry, and be fully experienced in reviewing design packages and material submissions from Consultants.

Senior Interior Designer

BSc in Interior Design or a similar degree majoring in Architecture.

10 years minimum experience in interior design of modern, large commercial developments. Must possess a high level of experience in the selection and review of modern building finishes and furniture. Working experience gained in healthcare and educational facilities would be advantageous.

Construction Supervisor (Civil)

HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

10 years experience in the construction/installation and commissioning of industrial civil works including heavy concrete, roads, bridges, storm water drainage and earthworks. Knowledge of various types of buildings, from electrical sub-stations and pump houses to high quality office blocks, medical centres and educational facilities would be an advantage. The candidate should have experience in supervising contractors and enforcing ISO 9000 type quality systems. Experience in site testing of materials would be an asset. He should also have a sound knowledge of safe working practices and would be required to similarly enforce these on the contractors under his supervision.
